The Saville Community Sports Centre (SCSC) is a multi-sport recreation facility managed and operated by the University of Alberta's Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation.  The facility is named after Edmonton businessman and philanthropist Bruce Saville who contributed substantially to the construction of both the east and west buildings.  The facility, originally known as the Saville Sports Centre, opened in 2004. In September 2011, a West wing was added when the University of Alberta teamed up with GO Sports partners - Edmonton Grads Basketball Centre; Ortona Gymnastics; and the Edmonton Volleyball Centre Society.  Saville West is 350,000 square feet and includes Canada's largest hardwood installation featuring 12 hardwood gymnasiums, lined for basketball, volleyball and badminton.  It provides programming and services to sport enthusiasts at all levels, from recreational athletes to Olympic champions.
