EDMONTON - Looking to clinch a post-season berth for the second-consecutive season, the 2-2 Alberta Golden Bears host the 1-3 Regina Rams on Saturday afternoon at Foote Field.

The Bears are coming off a thrilling 36-30 upset win over the defending Vanier Cup Champion Calgary Dinos, while the Rams are coming off back-to-back tight losses to UBC and Saskatchewan. The win propels Alberta into third in Canada West, trailing only the 3-1 Saskatchewan Huskies and 3-1 Manitoba Bisons. 

A Bears win, coupled with a Dinos loss to UBC, would clinch a playoff berth for Alberta.

• Saturday's clash will mark the lone regular season meeting between the Bears and Rams, with the two sides also meeting in a pre-season contest in early September, won by the Rams 34-25 in Medicine Hat, Alta.
• While the Rams own a 22-10 all-time conference record against Alberta, the two sides have split their last four regular season meetings 2-2. 
• Scoring 36 points in their road win over Calgary, the Bears now own the 4th best offence in U SPORTS, averaging 31.0 points per contest. The Saskatchewan Huskies are the only CW team averaging more points per game this season (36.3). 
• Second-year tailback Matthew Peterson has led the Bears offence, adding a pair of TD's in the Bears win over Calgary. The Brooks, Alta. product has recorded five touchdowns in four games this season. 
• On defence, fourth-year LB Josiah Schakel has been a tackling machine, leading U SPORTS with 9.1 tackles per game this season. 
• The Bears, however, are allowing the most yards per game defensively in the nation, giving up an average of 470.5. 
• Regina heads to Edmonton boasting one of the best defensive lines in Canada West, with their 12 QB sacks leading the conference. Josh White leads CW with 3.0 sacks, while Anthony Bennett sits fourth with a pair. 
• Like Alberta, Regina has used all three quarterbacks thus far this season. Josh Donnelly has impressed with 738 yards and eight touchdown passes in three starts, with Bryden O'Flaherty and Sawyer Buettner also seeing action for the Rams.
• Bears quarterback Brad Launhardt now sits 10th in program history with 3,127 career passing yards, adding 279 in their win over the Dinos on Sunday. His 251 career completions also puts him in a tie with Ben Kopczynski for 8th in Bears history.
