EDMONTON - Six different Golden Bears found the scoresheet on Friday night, as Alberta cruised past the Regina with a 6-1 win at Clare Drake Arena.
The win for Alberta is their 54th consecutive win over the Regina Cougars in all competition, and their 51st straight home win. The last Regina win at Clare Drake Arena came on November 8, 1996. The win is the second for Alberta (2-1-0) in conference play, while Regina drops to 0-4-0.Â

Grayson Pawlenchuk, Jared Freadrich, Matt Fonteyne, Dawson Davidson and
Josh Prokop found the twine for the Bears on Friday, with
Taz Burman stopping 28 of the 29 shots he faced to earn his first win as a Bear. Three of Alberta's six goals came on the man advantage, while Regina went 0/4 on the powerplay.Â
Brandon Holtby stopped 25 of the 31 shots he faced in the loss, with Brennan Riddle scoring the lone Cougars goal.
Alberta scored two goals in each period, with Kirichenko opening the scoring on the powerplay in the first, before Pawlenchuk doubled the lead midway through the opening frame.
Freadrich scored his first of the season to give Alberta a 3-0 midway through the second.Â
Riddle finally broke through late in the second, beating Burman with a wrister over the shoulder for his first of the season. Fonteyne restored the Bears three-goal lead just over a minute later, with Alberta holding a 4-1 lead after 40.
Davison and Prokop added insurance markers in the third.Â
The two sides will close out their weekend series on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at Clare Drake Arena, with the game also available on Canada West TV presented by Co-op.Â
