EDMONTON - An all-around performance, one in which nine different Pandas finished with at least one point, saw the Alberta Pandas skate to a 4-1 win over the MacEwan Griffins on Friday night.Â
The Pandas were led by
Kallie Clouston and
Jadynn Morden, who each record a pair of points in the win. Clouston scored twice in the second period, with Morden opening the scoring in the first, before adding an assist on the eventual game-winner.
Allison Reich also scored for Alberta, while
Halle Oswald stopped 16 of the 17 shots she faced.Â
Sydney Hughson scored the lone Griffins goal for a MacEwan side that struggled to maintain offensive pressure.Â
Morden opened the scoring early for the home side, beating Griffins starter Brianna Sank from the slot just 90 seconds in. A late flurry from MacEwan made the shot clock more respectable, after the Pandas took a 10-1 shot lead, finishing at 10-6.Â
Clouston scored the first of her two just 2:56 into the second, beating Sank for just her second goal of the season. Hughson cut into the Alberta lead just six minutes later, beating Oswald with her third of the year.Â
That was as close as MacEwan would get, as Clouston restored the Pandas two-goal lead just three minutes later.Â
Reich potted the insurance marker on a breakaway late in the third, securing the Pandas second-straight win.Â
Alberta (11-5-1)Â will visit MacEwan (3-11-1) tomorrow at 5:00 pm.Â
