EDMONTON - In a true display of sportsmanship, support and Canadian hospitality, a full Clare Drake Arena saw the Golden Bears earn a 5-1 win over the U25 Ukrainian National team on Tuesday night.Â
In front of nearly 2,300 people packed tightly into the confines of the Drake, the Golden Bears picked up a win in the third leg of the
Hockey Can't Stop Tour. The tour, which also includes stops in Saskatoon, Calgary and Winnipeg, serves as a fundraiser for the redevelopment of hockey in the Ukraine, and Ukrainian refugees who have settled in Canada.Â
In what was the first ever meeting between the Golden Bears and a national team from Ukraine saw the home side earn a tightly-contested 5-1 win, a win in which the visitors outshot Alberta 28-25.Â
The tremendous showing of support from the Edmonton community was on full display, in one of the largest crowds at Clare Drake Arena this decade.Â

Josh Prokop, and Tyler Preziuso picked up goals for the Bears, with
Nick Schneider and
Ethan Kruger combining to make 27 saves in the win.Â
Hlib Kryvoshapkin scored the lone goal for the Ukrainians, which electrified the sold out crowd.Â
The final stop on the Hockey Can't Stop Tour is January 9th, as the Manitoba Bisons will play host at Canada Life Centre. Following the Tour, the Ukrainian U25 National Team will travel to Lake Placid, New York for the 2023 FISU Winter University Games.
