EDMONTON -
Wanda Czebreszuk's third of the season in the 82nd minute salvaged a 1-1 tie for the Alberta Pandas in their Saturday matchup with the Victoria Vikes at Foote Field.Â
Victoria led for a majority of the match thanks to Taiya Scorey's marker in the 36th minute.Â
The draw earns a point for both sides in the standings, with Alberta moving to 2-2-3 this season, while Victoria's record now sits at 2-3-1.Â
Alberta outshot Victoria 11-3 in the tie, with total shots sitting 18-16 for the homeside. Vikes goalkeeper Kayley Lidstone turned in a strong performance, stopping 10 of the 11 shots she faced.Â
Despite only recording one shot on target in the first half, which was Scorey's goal, the Vikes held their own in terms of possession. Victoria held a 7-6 shot advantage through 45 minutes.Â
That script flipped completely in the second half, with Alberta dominating control of the ball. Alberta fired 12 shots towards the Victoria net in the second, six of which found the target.Â
